The purpose of Suicide Prevention Community Action Planning (SPCAP) is to lead the collaborative development of coordinated community plans for suicide prevention activities across the Northern Queensland region. Together, we help build connections and co-design suicide prevention activities that are trusted, effective and sustainable.

Suicide Prevention Community Action Planning includes and supports those with lived experience to help inform and guide all our plans; while bringing together other key stakeholders working in different sectors such as: Health, Mental Health and Wellbeing, Education, Family Violence, Local Government, Emergency Services, Commercial, Community and Volunteer Groups across our regions.

“In a nutshell, it’s really sitting down and listening to the different communities, hearing the things that are happening on the ground, and thinking about how we could further strengthen those amazing initiatives.”

🌍Happy World Social Work Day 2025! 🌍We celebrate the dedication and commitment of social workers and social care professionals across the globe - past, present, and up and coming through study pathways - especially our Superhero Social Workers here in Northern Queensland. Your tireless efforts in mental health, wellbeing, and suicide prevention make a lasting impact on individuals and communities alike. The theme for 2025 - ‘Strengthening Intergenerational Solidarity for Enduring Wellbeing,’ highlights the critical importance of respecting and caring for people of all ages to enhance wellbeing. By fostering connections between generations, we build stronger, more resilient communities that can face challenges together. The theme also encourages the empowerment of younger generations to ‘find new solutions to today’s challenges’. Social Workers help bridge these generational gaps with compassion, care and commitment; bringing hope, heart and healing where it’s often needed most. We are incredibly appreciative of the work and the positive impact on our communities. 🙏💙Thank you for your continued dedication and care! 💙To find out more about this year’s theme, please visit: www.ifsw.org/social-work-action/world-social-work-day/world-social-work-day-2025/ #ThankYou #SocialWorkers #SuicidePrevention #MentalHealth #Wellbeing #NorthernQueensland #Healing #Hope #WorldSocialWorkDay #StrengtheningSolidarity #EnduringWellbeing #CommunityCare #NQPHN #SPCAP #Wellways ...
