The purpose of Suicide Prevention Community Action Planning (SPCAP) is to lead the collaborative development of coordinated community plans for suicide prevention activities across the Northern Queensland region. Together, we help build connections and co-design suicide prevention activities that are trusted, effective and sustainable.

Suicide Prevention Community Action Planning includes and supports those with lived experience to help inform and guide all our plans; while bringing together other key stakeholders working in different sectors such as: Health, Mental Health and Wellbeing, Education, Family Violence, Local Government, Emergency Services, Commercial, Community and Volunteer Groups across our regions.

“In a nutshell, it’s really sitting down and listening to the different communities, hearing the things that are happening on the ground, and thinking about how we could further strengthen those amazing initiatives.”

🖥 SAFER INTERNET DAY 📱| In today’s digital world, online safety is more important than ever, and we all have a role to play. That’s why we’re joining the Australian eSafety Commissioner to support Safer Internet Day.How We Can Make a Difference:❌ Combat Cyberbullying: Australian students face the second-highest rate of bullying in the OECD. It’s vital to speak out, report incidents, and support those affected.🛜 Ensure Online Safety: Cyber fraud, image-based abuse, and coercive behaviours have a lasting emotional impact. We must prioritize digital safety, especially for children and young people, who are more vulnerable online.-Block harmful content.-Mute or unfollow those sharing inappropriate material.-Adjust search settings to filter unwanted content.🫂Practice Self-Care:-Take breaks from apps that may impact mental health.-Temporarily delete apps or pause notifications to reduce exposure to negativity.📓Educate yourself and your workplace: 👉 For more resources, visit eSafety.gov.au/SID. ...
